While Norm was only ordained to the Diaconate in September 2015, he has been a familiar face at St. George's for much longer. For years, he has been part of the Christian formation of members of the parish, leading confirmation classes and the daily offices of Morning and Evening Prayer, and assisting at the Eucharist. When his role was formalized with his ordination, Norm established a ministry of presence at St. George's by caring for our neighbourhood friends: serving coffee and supplies, granting access to the showers and rooms of the building, and doing laundry.
Deacon Norm officially retired from the Parish payroll in 2020, but continues to serve in a non-stipendiary manner. We are blessed to have him as a part of our mission in the downtown core.
