Sunday School and Nursery

The Sunday School gathers in the Church hall following the Children’s Talk on Sunday’s at 10:00 a.m.   At the beginning of their time together, they join in some singing; then the younger children (4 years and under) move to the Nursery, and the older children (5 to 13 years) go to their classes.  We have been using the curriculum from St. George’s (Round) Church in Halifax, and this year’s lessons focus on the Apostle’s Creed.

Our goal at Sunday School is to provide families with a safe and welcoming place where their children can learn more about the Christian Faith and grow in their relationship with the living God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

At every baptism of a child, the parents and godparents promise to "bring them to take their part in public worship" (see the Book of Common Prayer, page 530). To assist the parents in keeping this promise, St. George's offers Nursery Care for infants and preschoolers, as well as Sunday School classes for children aged 5 to 12 years, at the 10 am celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
