The Willing Workers group meet approximately 9 meetings per year the second Tuesday afternoon of each month in the Ladies Parlour to socialize, exchange ideas, plan various activities, and have a cup of tea. New ladies are always welcome to join and continue to work towards the good of the Church and community. Currently the President is Ruth Aiken, Secretary is Marilyn Rice, and the Treasurer is Connie Spinney.
Some of the things that the Willing Workers participate in are:
¨ Attend the Lenten Service for Corporate Communion.
¨ Place Easter and Christmas flowers on the altar in memory of former members and Easter and Christmas Cards were sent to shut-ins.
¨ A Rummage Sale is.held each year and they sometimes cater to weddings and anniversaries. They often cater to funeral receptions and members of the congregation help on these occasions, with gifts of money, food, and their service of help at these functions.
¨ Donations are given to Camp Medley, Camp Brookwood, Reconnect, Karing Kitchen, Scouts, Community Dinners, Church Choir School, and Radio Bible Club from which the daily devotional “Our Daily Bread” is received and left in the Church vestibule for the congregation. As well, they continue to make the personal hygiene kits for the Reconnect program.
¨ They give Christmas stockings and gifts to the community friends and shut-ins and assisted with food gift certificates and turkeys for needy families.
