St. Michaelís Conference
About the Conference:
The Saint Michaelís Youth Conference is a group of young people and leaders who come together to form a community.† Through worship, study, discussion, recreation, and relaxation, the community seeks a clearer vision of God in Jesus Christ, and the strength and power to serve God and His Church.
St. John the Divine in his Revelation pictures the conflict between the Archangel Michael and the fallen angel Satan.† This is the continuing conflict between Christians and the very real power of evil.† We are all called to be soldiers and servants of Christ.† Michael, as the leader of the heavenly host, is a good symbol for us as we seek to outfit ourselves with the armour of the Christian Gospel.† (Ephesians 6: 11-18)
A day at St. Michaelís:
All students will participate in three morning classes according to what year they are in.† With a swimming pool and playing fields on site, as well as trips to local recreational sites (Magic Mountain, etc.), there will be lots to do in the afternoon.† Sports will be an optional part of the programme.
Bible, Prayer book, notebook, pen & pencil, sleeping bags or blankets, warm clothes, toilet articles, towels, sunscreen, bug spray, sports clothes & equipment (if you wish), swimsuit, raincoat, as well as some pocket money for any personal purchases the conferee may wish to make.† Please leave your portable radios/CD players/i-pods/mp3 players/Game Boys/cell phones at home.† If found they will be taken away until departure on Saturday.
Who can come?
The conference is open to all young people ages 13 to 19 who are serious about learning more about their faith.† While it is designed for member of the Anglican Church, members of other Christian churches will also be most welcome.† Applicants who are 12 years old and exhibit personal and spiritual maturity may be accepted, subject to the recommendation of the Director.
